Chapter 4. The Installation of OS/2 Warp Server Version 4

4.1 Preparation

You you can install the OS/2 Warp Server components through the integrated installation:

• Copy the \WARPSRV directory with subdirectories from the OS/2 Warp Server CD-ROM to the hard disk.

• Change to your hard disk and then to the \WARPSRV directory.

• Type WSCONFIG and press Enter.

The Detecting Hardware window appears. The system checks the hardware. Then, the Installing IBM OS/2 Warp Server window appears as shown in Figure 15.

• Select Advanced Installation and click on the OK button.

The Information window appears as shown in Figure 16.

• Type in your first name, last name, department and company.

• Click on the OK button.

The OS/2 Warp Server Setup and Installation window appears (see Figure 17).

• Select all components you plan to use on the server. Do not select the Advanced Print Services option.

Attention
Do not select the Advanced Print Services because they are not supported with the configuration OS/2 Warp Server Version 4 on OS/2 Warp 4!

Also, not select TCP/IP. If you select TCP/IP services, the TCP/IP Info window appears as shown in Figure 18 because TCP/IP from OS/2 Warp 4 has already been installed.

Hint:
If you need the DHCP/DDNS server from OS/2 Warp Server's TCP/IP, you must install them separately as described in 4.4 Installing DHCP - / DDNS - Server.

• Select the disk drive on which you plan to install in the Disk Space sub-window as shown in Figure 19.

4.2 Configuring the Components
