11.1 PrerequisitesThe only supported update of an OS/2 and LAN Server to OS/2 Warp 4 with the Warp Server File & Print Server is to back up your vital configuration information, like access control lists and so on, then reinstall OS/2 Warp and Warp Server on a formatted partition and restore your configuration.
'Real' migration by directly updating the operating system from OS/2 2.11 or Warp 3 to Warp 4 has been successfully tested and may work in some circumstances. However, this path is not supported by IBM.
