Part 3. Installing Single
OS/2 Warp Server Components
While it is easier in most cases to perform the integrated installation of the OS/2 Warp Server components, you can also install most components separately with their own installation procedure.
This may be useful if you plan to add one of the Warp Server components afterwards, because you can launch the installation immediately from the OS/2 Warp Server CD-ROM, which is not possible with the integrated installation procedure of OS/2 Warp Server.
In some cases, it also makes sense to install the OS/2 Warp 4 base operating system and then add the different components step by step. This might be true if the integrated installation procedure does not give you the same possibilities to configure a component as the appropriate installation procedure does.
In this part of the document, we show you how to install all supported components that are included in Warp Server. Please remember that PSF/2 is not supported on OS/2 Warp 4 and therefore not documented here.
The following chapters also assume that you have already successfully installed OS/2 Warp 4 as described in Chapter 3. Installing OS/2 Warp 4.
The only exception might be if you did not install any networking component from OS/2 Warp 4, which should only be TCP/IP, The installation procedure of OS/2 Warp 4 installs MPTS, but gives you no opportunity to set it up for your needs. In this case, installing network components has to be done afterwards during the installation of the File and Print Server component of OS/2 Warp Server 4.
